The Philosophy major is designed to help students to listen carefully, think deeply, and present compellingly. Nine hours of the minor must be of 300-400 level coursework. Students graduating with a minor in Philosophy will be able to:
- Delineate a broad general understanding of the work of major figures in the history of philosophy, including Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, and Kant.
- Analyze and evaluate the field of logic, both formal and informal, and how to solve logical problems and proofs based on these forms of logic
- Demonstrate thinking which is analytical, creative, and Christian in regard to philosophical texts and issues.

|12 hours of elective courses are required of all Philosophy minors (including 6 hours specifically designated as PH courses). Non-Philosophy electives can be chosen from any of the courses listed below in “Specializations.”||12|
